RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF CHILDREN

Program follows the guidelines of the Diocese of Orange

It is a two-year preparation program:

RCIC– Year I: to study about the basic catechesis of the Christian life.

RCIC – Year II: to deepen the understanding of the three Sacraments: Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. After two years, the students will solemnly celebrate the reception of these three Sacraments.

Part of the preparation for receiving the Sacraments includes Rites and Retreat days to provide a special time for prayer and more direct preparations. Specific schedule and details are provided at parents’ meetings.

Requirements for this program:

Year 1:

• 6 years of age and up, Grades 1-8

• Birth Certificate

• No more than 3 absences

• Children are asked to attend Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation Liturgy (in person or you can attend online streaming liturgies)

• Parents are asked to attend special meetings and parent sessions

• $95 registration fee each child

Requirements for this program:

Year 2:

• 7 years of age and up, Grades 2-8

• Year 1 Certificate of accomplishment

• Birth Certificate

• No more than 3 absences

• Children are asked to attend Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation Liturgy (in person or you can attend online streaming liturgies)

• Parents are asked to attend special meetings and parent sessions

• Rites & Rehearsal for Masses  (see schedule to save the important dates)

• $165 registration fee each child
